Hey there, my name is Ashley, Welcome to my page!
I would first like to Thank Shawn and Michael; this project was one of the most rewarding and fun experiences to be a part of and to my Family, as always you are the never ending circle of Love and Support, for this I can never thank you enough.
I guess to know me better you could say I’m a small town gal raised in a hard working family in Gillette, WY. I loved growing up with open space, fresh air, stars at night, and yes-even a place where most people know your name. I grew up playing outside in our neighborhood, exploring nature, and hanging with friends. Summers as a kid I would stay with my grand parents in Pinedale, WY; along the Wind River Range. It’s gorgeous! These were my favorite summers, exploring the Rockies, riding horses, swimming in alpine lakes, and hiking mountains! I was able to really connect with my grand parents, nature, and self.
Besides nature, my true passions have always been painting, writing, and I’ve always wanted to help and support others. I guess that’s how I ended up in Boulder, CO and Massage Therapy School. The Flat Iron Mountains are amazing, healing, eccentric, and have been my home for the past two years. The Boulder College of Massage Therapy helped me to grow, find happiness, and is where I met Michael. Michael and I share the same love and passion for music, art, and wellness. We enjoy traveling together, exploring Colorado, yoga, and share many other common interests.
I have met so many wonderful people along my journey through life. I met Shawn through Michael and visiting Yosemite National Park for the first time. Seeing Yosemite I was speechless, and although the Rockies are beautiful, Yosemite has a beauty all its own, full of life, and wisdom. I didn’t realize it at the time but Yosemite had changed me.
When Shawn told me about this story and the character, I really related to aspects of the film. And then Michael and Shawn asked me to consider the role. I felt very excited about working on this project and through “Welcome to the Outside” I found a new appreciation for the old.
Filming in Colorado gave me a new passion for my home and seeing it in new exciting ways gave me direction and life. Staying and working in Yosemite for a week was the best week of my life (so far). We worked hard, some days we worked long hours; but embraced by nature’s beauty we found our time enjoyable and playful.
I hope you check back often to read my posts while we continue working on “Welcome to the Outside!”
Enjoy and Have a Great Day!!
~Ashley
